What is a supernova explosion?

Supernova eruption, in simple terms, is a phenomenon in which a star in the universe erupts with extremely powerful energy and brightness. They are one of the most spectacular and powerful explosion events in the universe.

When the nuclear fuel in the core of a star is depleted, the star undergoes extreme internal pressure. This pressure causes the outer material on the surface of the star to be severely compressed and expand outward at an astonishing speed in a very short period of time. This process is called a supernova eruption.

Supernova eruptions are divided into two types: core collapse supernovae and stellar merger supernovae. Core collapse supernovae occur when a massive star runs out of nuclear fuel and its core can no longer support its own gravity, resulting in collapse. This process releases tremendous energy due to high temperature and pressure, causing the outer material of the star to be ejected at high speeds.

In contrast, stellar merger supernovae are supernovae that occur after two stars collide or merge. When two stars come close to each other, the gravitational interaction between them can cause them to merge and release enormous energy. These supernovae are usually very bright and have a longer duration.

Regardless of the type of supernova eruption, they release tremendous energy and brightness, producing a light brighter than the entire Milky Way galaxy in a short period of time.
